Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy has completed a loan move back to France with Saint-Etienne.

The 32-year-old has not played in the Premier League this season, his seven appearances having come in the Carabao and EFL Cups and Europa League.

Debuchy joined Arsenal in the summer of 2014 but suffered a serious ankle injury early in his time at the Emirates and has not been able to secure a regular role since.

He has only played in 13 Premier League games since his move from Newcastle, with just three of those coming since the injury.

Debuchy, who still has 18 months left on his contract, also had a spell on loan in France with Bordeaux in 2015-16.

The France international said earlier in January he would be happy to find a new club this month.

"I want to leave, to find a new challenge," he told RMC Sport. "The fact I'm playing well will give me opportunities.
