Seamus Coleman has donated £7,680 to help Everton fans who rode 230 miles from Sligo to Goodison Park in June reach their target.

Coleman's donation on the Everton Supporters' Club Cycle page took them to the £60,000 they had hoped to raise from their ride.

Everton in the Community's homeless project - Home Is Where The Heart Is - will benefit from the donations made by a total of 593 people.

Coleman started his career with Sligo Rovers, where the group of 23 riders started their journey across Ireland on June 17.

They were aiming to raise 'sixty grand' in relation to the bargain price Everton paid Sligo for the Republic of Ireland player back in 2009.

"Well done everyone involved with the fundraising!" Coleman posted on the group's JustGiving page on Wednesday.

"I'm glad that my donation helps with reaching the fundraising target of 60,000."
