Everton midfielder Kevin Mirallas has confirmed he wanted a Deadline Day move to former club Olympiakos.
The 29-year old, who signed a new three-year deal at Goodison Park in May, was the subject of interest from West Ham this summer, with Slaven Bilic hoping to sign the player on loan.
Sky Sports News reported that Everton rejected West Ham's approach, with only permanent offers being considered by the club.
Mirallas claims Olympiakos, where the midfielder made 59 appearances between 2011-12, were also interested in his services on Deadline Day, but that too was declined by Everton.
"I really wanted to come to Olympiakos," Mirallas told Greek media following Belgium's 2-1 win over Greece.
"We tried our best to find a deal that would suit everyone, including President Vangelis Marinakis, who did everything possible and beyond - but Everton turned a deaf ear."
Mirallas has yet to start a Premier League game under manager Ronald Koeman this season, making only one substitute appearance in Everton's 1-0 win against Stoke on August 12.
The Belgian international scored four goals in 41 games, in all competitions, during the last campaign, but now wants to shape his future towards a return to the Karaiskakis Stadium.
"I am so sad that I have not been home and I hope that will be the case in the near future," he added.
"I would like to thank all Olympiakos supporters for the many messages they sent me. And they must know that I love their club and, as I said before, one day I will come back to them."
