Wayne Rooney has not asked Everton for sympathetic leave and has no plans to ask manager Ronald Koeman for any time off, according to Sky sources.
Sources close to Rooney have told Sky Sports News that the Everton striker has not requested a leave of absence, "nor would any such request ever be made".
Reports in the national press had suggested this week that his wife Coleen, who is expecting their fourth child, had asked Rooney to request some time away from football.
England's all-time record goalscorer was charged with drink driving 11 days ago and is due to appear in court on September 18.
Rooney played 90 minutes in Everton's 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham on Saturday.
The 31-year-old rejoined Everton from Manchester United in the summer following 13 years away and scored the winner on his second debut for the club - a 1-0 victory over Stoke on the opening day of the season.
Rooney, who announced his retirement from international football in August, followed up that strike by netting in a 1-1 draw away at Manchester City.
