Tottenham striker Harry Kane has backed chairman Daniel Levy's patient approach to strengthening the squad in the transfer window.

While their title rivals invested heavily over the summer, last season's Premier League runners-up began the season without any new arrivals.

However, Levy has picked up the pace of late, and defenders Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth have joined the squad along with reserve goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, while Paris St Germain's Serge Aurier appears set to sign on deadline day.

It has been a window in keeping with Levy's penchant for making deals right up until the window closes and Kane does not have any problem with the last-minute approach.

"Daniel likes to do it on the last day to get the best deal," he said.

"Daniel is a great businessman. He knows what he wants, he's been around for a long time. He's great for our club.

"The way he runs the club, the new training ground, the new stadium, he does what he wants to do. Some chairmen are
different, but he does what he does and feels it's the best way to help the team."

Kane, who is currently on England duty, was reluctant to be drawn on the matter, although he did suggest Rose, who is currently injured, would be best served by getting his head down and doing his talking on the pitch.

"It is what it is," Kane told reporters at England's training base in Burton-on-Trent. "He said what he said, but he now just needs to concentrate on getting himself fit and helping us again at Spurs."
