Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen has joined Turkish side Fenerbahce on a season-long loan in a bid to resurrect his career.
The young striker has struggled to establish himself at Spurs since a 2016 move from AZ Alkmaar and the club decided to sign a new striker over his head on Deadline Day in veteran Spaniard Fernando Llorente.
Sky sources understand Janssen turned down a move to Brighton in the final hour of the transfer window but has now decided to join the Super Lig side and join another former Tottenham striker in Roberto Soldado.
Janssen was left out of Spurs' 25-man Champions League squad earlier this week but boss Mauricio Pochettino insisted on Thursday that the Netherlands international remains part of his plans.
Janssen, 23, said on Instagram: "First of all, I would like to thank all the Tottenham Hotspur fans for their ongoing support. I will continue in Istanbul on a season-long loan at Fenerbahce. All the best this season and see you soon."
Fenerbahce confirmed on Twitter: "The 23-year-old striker will arrive at Istanbul Ataturk Airport at 12.30pm today and negotiations will continue in Istanbul."
The Turkish transfer window closes later on Friday and Fenerbahce had attempted to sign Diego Costa on loan before switching to Janssen.
