The summer transfer window may have closed for the majority of clubs across Europe but they are already making moves ahead of January.

Germany

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski feels the club need to do something special if they're to be competitive in the transfer market. The club were priced out of a move for Alexis Sanchez this summer and the Polish forward was frustrated by this: "Bayern needs to think up something and be creative when the club wants to lead a world class player to Munich." Bayer Leverkusen have submitted an application to FIFA after the Argentine Football Association denied the release of River Plate striker Lucas Alario. The Bundesliga side paid the forward's release clause but the Argentine club are saying this is void because it happened after the season had got underway. (SportBild)

Spain

New Paris Saint-Germain signing Kylian Mbappe, who scored on his debut during their 5-1 victory over Metz, has revealed he opted to move to Paris ahead of Madrid because of the first-team football on offer: "I felt that at PSG, I would have more opportunities to play than at Real Madrid." (Marca)

Zinedine Zidane is hoping to keep his great record post-international breaks going. Since his appointment as Real Madrid manager, he has a 100 per cent win record after an international break. (Marca)

Italy

Luciano Spalletti had planned to replace Ivan Perisic with Domenico Berardi but stalled on the deal after meeting the Croatian attacker. The former Roma manager went out of his way to keep the ex-Borussia Dortmund man at the San Siro despite heavy interest from Manchester United. Perisic has just put pen to paper on a contract extension with the club. (Calciomercato)

AC Milan rebuilt their team this summer and are already plotting their moves for next year. Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is at the top of their list. Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery gave in to temptation and started the most expensive trio ever put together in world football. Kylian Mbappe made his debut for the club alongside Neymar and Edinson Cavani during the 5-1 win over Metz. All three got on the scoresheet and the understanding between the three of them looking to be there already. (L'Equipe)

Monaco owner Vadim Vasilyev regrets not selling Mbappe to Real Madrid: "When I learned that he wanted to go to Paris, I was sad a few days. But it is his life and it is his choice. I understood. Would I have preferred to sell it to Real Madrid? Yes, but not him. All interested clubs were told that it was Kylian who, at the end, would choose." (Le10Sport)

Marcelo Bielsa rejected the chance to bring Vincent Janssen to Lille. The Argentine manager, whose start with Lille has been somewhat underwhelming after winning just one of his first five matches, said the Spurs striker, who is now playing for Fenerbahce, didn't suit his style of play.
