Marouane Fellaini repaying faith Jose Mourinho's faith, says Ryan Giggs

In the latest Super 6 Class of ’92 diary, Ryan Giggs hails the importance of Marouane Fellaini, discusses whether the Premier League title is already a two-horse race and suggests there is currently no need for Harry Kane to leave Tottenham.

Fantastic Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini has really proved his importance, stepping in for Paul Pogba. He has scored important goals, as he did at Everton, and I'm really pleased for him after taking a lot of stick over the years.

I've worked with him and he's a great lad to train because he does exactly what you want, and hasn't let the fans bother him because he's always had the support of the players and the coaches.

He is effective, knows his strengths and limitations, and he's somebody who Jose has put a lot of faith in and he has repaid that with some important goals.

Man Utd 4-0 Crystal Palace

The battle between Marcus Rashford and Antony Martial has also been great to follow. I could definitely see them in the same team, with Marcus being more of a natural centre-forward whereas Martial is more of a left-sided forward but can also play centrally.

They've got incredible pace so they are extremely dangerous, although to be considered top players they need to be scoring 20 goals a season.

City, United the teams to beat

I think it is too early to say it's a two-horse race in the Premier League. I've been in India so I didn't see Manchester City win at Stamford Bridge but you've got to take into account Chelsea's week, going to Stoke then getting a hard-fought win at Atletico Madrid.

I think Chelsea will still be in the mix but you've got to say City and Manchester United have been impressive and are the teams to beat.

I think we are seeing the managers, Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, imprinting their own visions on their teams. In Pep's case, with the goals they score and the chances they are creating, it's exciting for City fans right now.

City v United: Who's better?
City v United: Who's better?

The two Manchester clubs are flying high in the Premier League table - we take a look at how they compare head to head...

You see a bit of both at United, with a really strong defence but then scoring plenty of goals as well. The Southampton game was a good example, playing really well in the first half but then shutting up shop in the second.

We're still waiting to see if City can win games when they don't play as well, so the real tests await for both sides.

Clinical Kane

I thought Tottenham would struggle this season because of playing at Wembley and having to balance the Champions League, but they've got a top coach and maybe the best first-choice XI in the league.

Huddersfield 0-4 Tottenham

In Harry Kane, they've got somebody who is on fire and seems to take every chance that comes his way. It is his temperament as well, his demeanour didn't change even though he wasn't scoring goals in August, and he just seems to be getting better.

Will he be tempted to move on? I think every player wants to win trophies but first of all, I just wanted to play for United, just like I'm sure Harry does at Tottenham.

If they are not looking like winning anything and some of their other talented players start leaving then big clubs will come knocking, and he'll have to think about his future.

However, as long as he is competing for the Premier League and playing in the Champions League then there's no reason for him to leave Tottenham.

Salford's professional patience

Salford didn't have a game last weekend because of the FA Cup qualifying round and one of the challenges when you turn professional is how to plan a week off. That is what the fitness guys and the managers will be wary of.

There's always a danger you can lose that momentum after a two-week break, but then again, the players who would have been carrying niggles will benefit.

There are pluses and minuses there. The danger of losing that momentum after winning four successive league games, but then that extra time to work on things on the training pitch.

We haven't been scoring as many goals as joint leaders Harrogate so there's plenty to work on in that sense.
