Christian Eriksen form thrills Eric Dier as Tottenham prepare for Arsenal derby

Christian Eriksen is in the form of his life, says team-mate Eric Dier, as Tottenham prepare for Saturday's North London Derby with Arsenal, live on Sky Sports Premier League.

Eriksen produced a man-of-the-match hat-trick display in helping Denmark come from behind to beat the Republic of Ireland 5-1 in Tuesday's World Cup play-off second leg.

It was a performance that had Danish boss Age Hareide saying Eriksen should be ranked among the world's top 10 players.

With their fierce north London rivals set to host Spurs on Saturday, Dier said: "It's great for Tottenham that Eriksen's continuing to excel.

"We're seeing the best Christian Eriksen we've ever seen at the moment. Hopefully he can keep going."

Regarding the trip to the Emirates, Dier added: "The mentality going into it is to win. Simple really."

This weekend sees a return to Premier League action and following England's hard-fought goalless draws with Brazil and Germany, Dier is in upbeat mood ahead of next summer's World Cup.

"We have the individuals now it's just bringing everything together as a team," Dier added.

"We're working on that and we're definitely going in the right direction. The ambition of everyone here is to keep improving and progressing to be on the level with the best teams in the world."

Dier says England, knocked out of Euro 2016 by Iceland, should not be fazed, no matter who the opposition.

He added: "Our mentality needs to be that no matter who we're playing against, we want to try to dominate the game, affect the game and win the game."
