Bournemouth have signed Connor Mahoney after his contract expired at Blackburn.
The 20-year-old former England youth international has agreed a four-year-deal and will initially join Bournemouth's development squad.
A compensation fee has yet to be sorted out between Bournemouth and Blackburn and will be determined by a tribunal if the clubs cannot reach an agreement.
Mahoney had been reportedly linked with a move to Nottingham Forest following Blackburn's relegation to League One.
"I think I am ready to step up and challenge myself," said Mahoney, who is a boyhood Blackburn fan.
"I'm a young, hungry player who wants to attack and get past my man. I like to get fans off their seat.
"Working with Eddie Howe and his coaching staff will be a dream come true, so to be able to do that day-in, day-out will get the best out of me."
