David Prutton's EFL predictions: Who will be victorious in Second City derby?

Prutton's Predictions

David Prutton returns with his predictions ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet EFL matches...

But who is our resident expert tipping for victory? Read on to find out...

Hull v Nottingham Forest, Saturday 5.30pm - Live on Sky Sports Football

This is literally a toss of a coin for me. Hull are on a bit of an upturn and finally broke their away-day duck at Barnsley last week, which should give a real lift.

Forest have also been improving in the last few games, with a win coming either side of their disappointing defeat at Derby, and I just can't split these two.

Prutton predicts: 1-1 with Jarrod Bowen to score first (25/1 with Sky Bet)

Birmingham v Aston Villa, Sunday 12pm - Live on Sky Sports Football

If you can't get yourself up for a game like this then what can you get yourself up for? The Second City derby returns and it should be a fabulous occasion as St Andrew's. Steve Cotterill was riding high after winning his first game in charge against Cardiff, but Birmingham came down with a bit of a bump at Millwall last week and he'll want a reaction here.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, are in the play-offs and they'll want to continue to close in on the top two, but I feel like this will be a draw. Albeit an entertaining one.

Cardiff v Millwall, Saturday 3pm

Bit of an interesting one this. Cardiff got back to winning ways at Middlesbrough last week after a mini stumble and they still find themselves in the top two heading into the weekend.

Millwall are still without a win on the road this season, and the three teams with a worse away record than them are in the bottom four. They'll put up a fight as ever, and I think they can get a draw here.

Prutton predicts: 1-1 (11/2 with Sky Bet)

Fulham v Bolton, Saturday 3pm

Bolton are on a bit of a resurgence and feel like they may be turning a little bit of a corner after getting their first win a couple of weeks ago and drawing with QPR last week.

Fulham, however, had a poor result at Aston Villa and they'll want to get back to winning ways on Saturday. They should have too much for Bolton.

Prutton predicts: 1-0 (15/2 with Sky Bet)

Norwich v Derby, Saturday 3pm

Norwich are probably the form team in the Sky Bet Championship now behind Wolves, and they've snuck their way into the play-off places for the first time this season.

Derby are on a decent run themselves and they'll fancy their chances at Carrow Road, but I'm going to back a narrow home win.

Prutton predicts: 2-1 (15/2 with Sky Bet)

Preston v Brentford, Saturday 3pm

Alex Neil won't be too worried by their defeat at Wolves last week as it was pretty much a free hit for them and they did run them close at the end.

Deepdale is always a tough place for anyone to go, and while Brentford are getting themselves together I think their trip up north will be a fruitless one.

QPR v Wolves, Saturday 3pm

Can anyone stop Wolves? Nuno's side are looking imperious now and even their side with a host of changes held out against Manchester City for 120 minutes in midweek.

QPR are generally strong at home and Ian Holloway sides rarely roll over, but I can't see them dealing with the Wolves attack at the moment with the form they're in. Away win.

Prutton predicts: 1-2 (8/1 with Sky Bet)

Wigan v Blackburn, Saturday 3pm

Two of the pre-season favourites in Sky Bet League One meet at the DW Stadium on Saturday, and neither would have expected to be looking up at Shrewsbury at the end of October.

Blackburn have a couple of games in hand but they won't want to lose any more ground on the top two, who are starting to open up a bit of a gap on the rest. But I think the pressure will tell and this will be a home win.

Luton v Coventry, Saturday 3pm

It looked like it was going to be a case of Notts County or Exeter a couple of weeks ago, but both have slipped off it in the last couple of weeks and Luton have capitalised superbly to reach the top of the table.

They're scoring a bucket load of goals as well and it will be interesting to see if Coventry's excellent defence, which has conceded at least four goals fewer than any other side in League Two, can keep them out. But I think Luton are too confident at the moment and they'll get another three points on Saturday.

Prutton predicts: 2-0 (17/2 with Sky Bet)
