Claudio Bravo claims Alexis Sanchez went from "happiness to bitterness" when his Deadline Day move from Arsenal to Manchester City fell through.

Sanchez had been expected to join his Chile international team-mate Bravo at the Etihad after City submitted a £60m offer for the former Barcelona forward.

However, Arsenal failed in their bid to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar as a replacement on Deadline Day - forcing Sanchez to remain at the Emirates.

"He went from happiness to bitterness in a few hours, although it's all in the past now," said Bravo, after Manchester City's 5-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

"The transfer didn't happen because a player didn't go to Arsenal and everything collapsed. We would have loved to have him here, but the market gives you these time limits and the rush is not good.
