Gabriel Jesus has hailed Kevin De Bruyne as “one of the best players in the world” after his display in Manchester City’s 7-2 win over Stoke.
City moved two points clear at the top of the Premier League with the win at the Etihad on Saturday, with the Belgian marking his 100th appearance for the club by setting up four goals.
After the game Stoke boss Mark Hughes said De Bruyne was "head and shoulders above anybody else in the Premier League" and Jesus, who scored a double, was also full of praise for the 26-year-old.
"He is one of the best players in the world," said the Brazil striker, who scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season in the victory.
"His quality is outstanding as an individual out on the pitch, but it's the way that he makes that work for the whole team, and connects with the other players, that makes him special."
De Bruyne's name was chanted by the City fans as the goals poured in during the second half against Stoke despite not being on the scoresheet himself, but Jesus says the acclaim is well deserved.
"Kevin deserves the love from the fans," added Jesus. "We can't decide who they show their affection to but the important thing is that every player gives their all out on the pitch.
"We are scoring goals, making assists and winning games and that is the main thing."
