Pep Guardiola hailed Sergio Aguero after the Manchester City striker equalled the club's all-time goalscoring record on Saturday.
Aguero, making his first appearance since fracturing his rib in a car accident three weeks ago, scored a first-half penalty to move level with Eric Brook on 177 City goals.
He was denied the chance to break the record when he was substituted in the closing stages, with Nicolas Otamendi and Leroy Sane wrapping up the 3-0 victory at the Etihad.
"It is one more goal and he is going to get one," Guardiola said. "He is going to get an amazing record and hopefully the next one is not the last one."
City have moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League after title rivals Manchester United lost 2-1 at Huddersfield.
The league leaders have scored 16 goals in their last four top-flight games and Guardiola praised his team for another impressive attacking performance.
"We play to score goals and to create as many chances as possible," he added. "Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.
"Our expectations we have to handle and in every game we play, we have to try to win. It's important at the back we didn't concede and up front we created a lot.
"To score three goals against Burnley is not easy."
Burnley were upset at referee Roger East's decision to award City a spot-kick for Nick Pope's apparent trip on Bernardo Silva, but Guardiola defended his player.
"I saw on TV and it's a penalty," the City boss said. "He touched the right foot of Bernardo.
"Bernardo is a guy who only wants to play football. The intention is to take the ball. Maybe the rain on the pitch made the difference for the goalkeeper."
City have now won 11 straight games in all competitions - a club record - and Guardiola was pleased with his team after a midweek victory over Napoli in the Champions League.
"After the Champions League it is always difficult because the Champions League is so demanding," he continued. "Not just physically but mentally.
"It was a fantastic performance, we didn't concede too much and [Burnley] suffered their first defeat in away games today.
"Burnley is always tough, their physicality. They work like a team. This is so important for us and our confidence."
