Pep Guardiola has demanded more from his Manchester City players despite making a record-breaking start to the season.

Pep Guardiola believes his Manchester City side can still improve, despite making a record-breaking start to the Premier League season.

City have made an unbeaten start to the season and already sit eight points clear of second-placed Manchester United after 11 games.

Following their 3-2 away win over West Brom, Guardiola's side surpassed the previous record start to a Premier League season set by Manuel Pellegrini's Manchester City team in the 2011/12 season.

However, Guardiola has demanded his players raise their game once more as they look to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League when they travel to Leicester on Saturday.

"We can do better," said Guardiola. "What I feel is that we still have a lot of things we can do better.

"If you analyse just the result, it's not a discussion but, in terms of playing and knowing what is going to happen in December with the schedule, we have to improve."

Guardiola also confirmed Sergio Aguero will be available for selection this weekend, the striker was declared fit by City's medical staff after he was taken ill at half-time during Argentina's 4-2 friendly defeat to Nigeria on Tuesday.

The Argentine FA had announced that Aguero "blacked out" when he was not feeling well, however Guardiola told reporters in a Friday press conference that City's record goalscorer did not fall unconscious while on international duty.

The City boss said: "He arrived two days ago. He met with the doctor and he's perfect, he was conscious all the time in Argentina and he's OK, so nothing to be worried about.

"Yes, definitely [Aguero will be available this weekend]."
