According to the Sky Sports Ultimate League, Manchester City have been the seventh most successful team in the league over the last 50 years with an average position of 13.38, while Huddersfield rank 45th with an average of 47.46.

The Terriers have finished above City during two campaigns over the last half a century in 1997/98 and 1998/99, when City slipped into England's third tier for one season.

This season, City are undefeated and sit eight points clear of neighbours United atop the table, having scored a remarkable 40 goals.
