Peter Crouch would be great value for a spot in England's World Cup squad for Russia 2018, according to Stoke defender and team-mate Erik Pieters.

Crouch, who has scored 22 goals in 42 caps for England, has not featured for his country since November 2010 though Pieters believes the 36-year old would be a solid "plan B" option for next year's finals.

England secured their World Cup qualification after topping Group F with eight victories from their 10 games. and manager Gareth Southgate will now be turning his attention to selecting his squad for eight months time.
