Joe Allen believes that Stoke have the experience and ability to reverse their recent fortunes and start to climb the Premier League table.
Stoke are 17th and only outside the relegation zone on goal difference. They have lost four of their last five Premier League games and were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Championship side Bristol City.
However, midfielder Allen believes it is only a matter of time before Stoke turn things around.
Speaking to the Stoke Sentinel, Allen said: "We're confident that, with the ability we have, over a period of time, it's going to be enough to get ourselves back up the table, in a position that's more fitting of this club.
"We've got so much experience in that dressing room. We've been here before, we know what to expect and that's going to help us.
"We haven't got lads in here that will be affected by bad results and lose confidence. In that sense, it's only a matter of time before we get the ball rolling and get a run of games together where we pick up a lot more points."
Stoke lost 2-1 at home to 19th placed Bournemouth last weekend, and Allen - who has just recovered from a concussion injury sustained on international duty - acknowledged that result was not acceptable.
He said: "To get nothing out of the game against Bournemouth is below the standards we set ourselves.
"We need to build momentum. We want to make sure we bounce back with a result that sends the supporters home happy and we start building momentum between now and Christmas."
