Watford and Stoke City have each been fined £25,000 by the FA for failing to control their players during their Premier League meeting last month.
The two clubs were charged after a clash between players in the final minutes of Stoke's 1-0 victory at Vicarage Road.
Watford captain Troy Deeney grabbed Stoke midfielder Joe Allen's face and neck, with match referee Michael Oliver showing a yellow card to both players.
Deeney has been since banned for three matches for violent conduct.
The striker was seen pressing his fingers into Allen's face after a melee started when Deeney refused to give the ball back to Stoke's players who had put it out for a throw-in to treat an injured player.
Allen and Deeney squared up and a number of other team-mates on both sides got involved.
Deeney will miss Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Everton and will also sit out games against West Ham and Newcastle. He is eligible to return against Manchester United on November 28 at Vicarage Road.
