Swansea boss Paul Clement has said he is unlikely to make any fresh moves in the transfer market despite an injury to Kyle Bartley.

The defender is expected to be out for around two months after he suffered medial ligament damage in the Carabao Cup win at MK Dons on Tuesday night.

Clement reflects on the impact of the injury suffered by Kyle Bartley

When asked if he expected to look for defensive reinforcements before the transfer window closed on 31 August, Clement told Sky Sports News: "Probably not. I expect we will stick with what we've got. We've got three good central defenders at the club.

"We also know we can call on Joe Rodon, a player at U23 level, if necessary. So it's more than likely we'll stay as we are.

"He (Bartley) was a player who did really well last season away on loan. The injury isn't as bad as it could have been so we are thankful for that although he's going to miss what could be six-to-eight weeks but not exactly sure.

Clement completed the signing of Sam Clucas from Hull City on Thursday and the £16.5m new boy will go straight into the squad for the weekend game against Crystal Palace.

"He's available for this weekend," said Clement. "He's fit, he's in good shape. He's had a good pre-season so he doesn't need any extra physical work.

"It's just whether I see it right to integrate him straight in to the team for tactical reasons but he'll be in the squad this weekend.

"We are bringing a really good footballer to the club, someone that's going to add a lot of value so we are really happy to have him here."
