Brighton manager Chris Hughton hopes his fringe players can make a claim for a spot in his first team in Tuesday's Carabao Cup tie against Bournemouth.

Hughton's side return to the Vitality Stadium just four days after their 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth last Friday and Hughton will be hoping the fresh faces in his squad can enable them to earn a positive result this time out.

"We'll be no different to everybody else; you use your squad and it allows you to give others games," Hughton said. "In some cases, it has to be that way.

"There are a few areas where we have got to be mindful, but it's also a good opportunity for those that have really trained well that have been pushing very hard to give them an opportunity.

"It's a good stadium to play at, under the floodlights, a wonderful pitch and I'd be very surprised if there was anybody who didn't want to be involved in that game.

"For those that weren't (involved on Friday) this is an opportunity for them and we also have to look at any opportunity as a good one."

"We probably don't expect any major changes in the way that they play," Hughton added.

"They are a team that very much play on the front foot, who will try and win the game, they play the game at a high tempo so I think we know what to expect and it's just working around that."
