Manchester City host Liverpool live on Sky Sports this Saturday - but could fatigue from international duty affect some players more than others?

Combined, the players have travelled in the region of 185,000 air miles - only 54,000 short of a one-way trip to the Moon.

However, City's globe-trotters will have completed considerably more miles than their opponents, covering 107,000 of that total - primarily boosted by their South American contingent.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp's international stars will cover 78,000 miles during the two-game international schedule.

City players that were fielded in their most recent league fixture against Bournemouth will travel 89,958 air miles - compared with players fielded during Liverpool's 4-0 win over Arsenal accumulating 45,564 miles.

Liverpool currently have 18 players representing their nations around the world and Manchester City have 14 squad members on duty for the World Cup qualifiers.

City's back-up 'keeper Claudio Bravo travelled the greatest distance, covering 14,666 miles with Chile - lining up with club target Alexis Sanchez during a 3-0 defeat to Paraguay in Chile before an away fixture in Bolivia.

Meanwhile, first-choice City stopper Ederson and Fernandinho, alongside Liverpool's Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho, each racked up 14,617 miles with Brazil, facing Ecuador in the home city Porto Alegre before heading to Colombia.

City's Sergio Aguero and Nicolas Otamendi travelled 14,002 miles with Argentina, flying to Uruguay on Friday and hosting Venezuela in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.

Liverpool duo Mo Salah (8,584 miles) and Sadio Mane (6,713 miles) also clocked considerable mileage during the international break with Egypt and Senegal, respectively.

The rest of the clubs' jet-setting internationals represented European nations - with five players selected in the latest England squad.

City's Kyle Walker, John Stones and Raheem Sterling joined Liverpool's Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge with England - each covering around 2,950 miles en-route to their 4-0 win in Malta and 2-1 win at Wembley against Slovakia.

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez called up three players from the two clubs, including Kevin De Bruyne, Vincent Kompany and Liverpool 'keeper Simon Mignolet - each travelling around 3,330 miles.

City winger Leroy Sane was a surprise omission from the Germany squad, which included Liverpool midfielder Emre Can (1,648 miles) for fixtures against the Czech Republic and Norway, meaning the winger will be well rested for Saturday's clash.

Pep Guardiola named 16-year-old Phil Foden on the bench against Celtic in the Champions League last year. Now 17 years old, the England Under-18 international only notched 128 miles on the road with his country.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's England Under-21s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Dominic Solanke all travelled 955 miles during their international commitments.
