Dele Alli will miss England’s friendlies against Germany and Brazil due to a hamstring injury.

The Tottenham midfielder has scored four goals in his last four matches but was ruled out of Sunday's visit of Crystal Palace with a hamstring problem.

Speaking prior to his side's 1-0 win, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino played down fears over the 21-year-old's long-term fitness.

The Spurs boss said: "Dele suffered a minor injury in his hamstring after the game against Real. It's not a big issue but he's not available."

England, who play Germany at Wembley on Friday before hosting Brazil on Tuesday, November 14, are yet to announce whether anyone will be drafted into the squad in place of Alli.

Alli's absence means Southgate now has 24 players for the Wembley double-header, although there could yet be more withdrawals after Sunday's matches or when the squad convenes at St George's Park on Monday.

The England manager has chosen for a bold squad for the upcoming matches.
