Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey is expected to be fit for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Austria and Moldova despite sitting out training on Tuesday.

Ramsey was substituted during the half-time interval of Arsenal's heavy 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday after suffering a calf injury at Anfield.

The 26-year-old joined up with the rest of the Wales squad on Tuesday but was forced to miss Chris Coleman's opening training session as a precaution ahead of a must-win game against Austria on Saturday.

Wales are currently third in Group D - four points behind Serbia and the Republic of Ireland - with just four games remaining.

Coleman is without a number of senior players for the game against Austria, with Joe Allen suspended and Emyr Huws ruled out with an Achilles problem.

Joe Ledley is available but is yet to find a club after leaving Crystal Palace in June, while Andy King and David Edwards have had limited game time at the start of the new season.

Neil Taylor also remains suspended for the game against Austria but his likely replacement Jazz Richards believes Wales have enough strength in depth to keep their World Cup hopes alive.

"Everybody has been looking to the Austria game," said Richards.

"We need to show the heart we have done over the last couple of years because if we do that then nine times out of 10 we will get the result.

"We all know this is a massive game and what we have to do if we are going to qualify. There's still enough points to play for and we're more than a good enough team to get what we need."
