Harry Kane will look to continue his sensational goalscoring run when Tottenham travel to Champions League holders Real Madrid on Tuesday.
The England striker tops the scoring charts in Europe's elite club competition with five goals from two games and has 15 goals from his last 11 games for club and country.
Kane's goals have seen Spurs kick-off their Champions League campaign with two wins for the first time, and he will no doubt have a part to play if they are to end their four-game goal drought against the reigning European champions.
Real have also won their first two group games, and their clash with Spurs could have a large bearing on who tops Group H.
Pochettino believes that the Madrid clash is an opportunity for Tottenham to show how far they have come in Europe.
"We have a young team that does not have too much experience at this level," he said. "This last step, so to speak, that seems to be quite close, but is difficult to reach, it's a great chance for us to see our capability at mental level, as well as physical and tactical level."
Pochettino's counterpart, Zinedine Zidane, is wary of the threat Kane possesses ahead of Tuesday's game, and has labelled the 24-year-old as a "complete player".
"He is very good at everything. But what he does, he always does it towards the goal, so to speak," the Real boss said.
"He does not just stay (still) on the field, but he always attacks space at speed. He is a complete player. He did not seem to be one (at first), but in the end, he is."
Spurs have been boosted by the return of Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele ahead of the trip to the Spanish capital, with both in contention after lengthy spells on the sidelines.
Having been ruled out with a serious knee injury since January, Rose is not expected to start in the Bernabeu, but with Ben Davies having failed to recover from illness in time to feature, the left-back is expected to feature on the bench.
Former Spurs forward Gareth Bale has been ruled out of a reunion with his former club with a calf injury.
Mateo Kovacic is still out with a knee injury and Dani Carvajal is recovering from a heart problem, but goalkeeper Keylor Navas is hoping to shake off a thigh strain and could return.
Watching Spurs is never high on my agenda but I have to admit I'm looking forward to this. It's a cracking game and a great test for Mauricio Pochettino and his team.
I liked the way they played against Dortmund but they now come up against a side who represent everything great about this competition.
People may know what I think about Sergio Ramos and the problems he causes for his team. He will be in for a real test in facing Harry Kane and I could see him being wound up into a red card.
If there's a club which would suit Kane then it is Real as he's an upgrade for Karim Benzema, and I think him and Cristiano Ronaldo both to find the net is nailed on.
Marco Asensio is the next superstar and I see him replacing Gareth Bale on the right flank, while Eric Dier will have a tough job in picking up Isco. I can't believe I'm saying it, but I'm going for Tottenham to get a result here.
Charlie predicts: 2-2 and Ronaldo to score first (35/1 with Sky Bet)
Zidane's men are the 7/2 outright favourites while Spurs are 28/1 shots to lift the trophy, shortening from 33/1 before the group stages.
Ronaldo heads the first goalscorer betting at 2/1 with Harry Kane a 9/2 shot, while the prolific duo are enhanced from 7/2 to 9/2 to both find the net in Sky Bet's Price Boosts.
