Manchester City are prepared to wait for Alexis Sanchez and will welcome him with "open arms" should he leave Arsenal this summer, according to Claudio Bravo.

Sanchez has just a year left on his current deal at Arsenal, which has resulted in the Chilean being linked with a move to City and a whole host of other clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted on several occasions the club do not want to sell their star man, and revealed Sanchez will return to training from an extended break off on Sunday.

That has now been cast in doubt after the 28-year-old told Arsenal he has flu - which could place his return ahead of the Community Shield against Chelsea on Sunday 6 August in jeopardy.

And Bravo, who plays with Sanchez in the Chile national side, has once again talked up a move for his compatriot - saying City would be more than happy to sign the forward this summer if he decided he wants to depart Arsenal.

"If he decides to go, we'll wait for him with open arms at City," Bravo told Chilean publication 24 Horas.

Arsenal will host the Emirates Cup this weekend before playing Chelsea at Wembley next week. The Gunners will then open the new Premier League season with a home clash against Leicester City on Friday 11 August.
