Nemanja Matic has trained with his new Manchester United team-mates for the first time after completing a move from Chelsea.

Matic joined United for an initial £40million fee on Monday with add-ons included in the deal which could take the total cost up to £45million.

"I feel great. Manchester [United] is one of the biggest clubs in the world and I am very happy because I am now part of this great club, part of this great group," Matic told MUTV after completing the deal.

"I am looking forward to start to train with the team and to start to play the games."

At one stage, Matic's move to United looked unlikely after Jose Mourinho hijacked Chelsea's move for Romelu Lukaku to sour the relationship between the clubs.

But Roman Abramovich sanctioned the deal, noting Matic's role in helping deliver two Premier League titles in the three years since he rejoined the Blues in 2011.

He has joined up with former Chelsea colleagues Jose Mourinho and Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford.
