Everton are yet to receive a transfer offer for Tottenham and Chelsea target Ross Barkley, their manager Ronald Koeman has confirmed.

Barkley’s contract at Goodison Park expires at the end of the coming season but Everton have placed a £50million price tag on the England international’s head.

Both Spurs and Chelsea have the midfielder on their shortlist, with the former having been monitoring Barkley’s situation since the winter of 2016.

With such a sizeable price tag on the 23-year-old interested parties could choose to wait it out and hope that Everton accept a lower offer. However Koeman has hinted that he is happy to reintegrate Barkley into his side if the Toffees cannot find a satisfactory deal.

“There is no offer on the table for Ross - that means he will stay at Everton,” Koeman said.

“The player has one year [left on his] contract and there is no offer. Maybe the club will not accept the offer [if and when it comes] because he is a good, young, English player.

“If somebody wants to buy Ross it's a big deal. If there is no interest then he will stay and be part of the team.”

Koeman added that a deal for playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson was “still close”. Everton have bid £40m for the Iceland international but Swansea are holding out for around £50m.
