Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen were on target as Tottenham beat Champions League runners-up Juventus in impressive style at Wembley.

The victory was overshadowed by Kieran Trippier's injury as Mauricio Pochettino was given a potential headache just seven days out from the new season.

Trippier enjoyed a combative duel with Chelsea target Alex Sandro on the right flank and despite needing medical assitance moments earlier he set up the opener.

The former Burnley man wasn't moving freely but found the space to lift a cross over for Kane to head down and high into Gianluigi Buffon's net for a deserved lead.

Spurs looked susceptible from corners thereafter but otherwise dictated much of the first period and could have gone two up when Eriksen's effort from range was pushed clear by Buffon.

Trippier then left the field limping after a second full-blooded challenge from Sandro which caught his ankle. Although both tackles were deemed fair, Trippier came out of the collisions worse off on both occasions and reportedly suffered a twisted ankle from the second.

But the incident didn't squash Tottenham's flair as Eriksen got his goal after the interval. The Denmark international latched onto a fine pass from Dele Alli before rounding the Juventus goalkeeper for Tottenham's second.
