Gary Neville launched a withering assessment of Arsenal's first half-performance against Liverpool on Sunday, and said "I'd stick them all up the transfer list".

Arsene Wenger's side produced a listless display in the first 45 minutes of their visit to Anfield, and fell behind 2-0 after goals from Roberto Firmino and then Sadio Mane.

Neville - speaking as a commentator on Sky Sports - was left raging at their perceived lack of effort.

"I'm absolutely fuming watching them. It's ridiculous some of the things you see from them," the former Manchester United defender said.

"I'd stick them all up on the transfer list. Some of these Arsenal players want a move. Who would buy them?"

"I'm not a Liverpool fan but this Arsenal team deserve a battering."

Neville continued: "The general attitude, and lack of respect towards the shirt by three or four of them. They (the Arsenal fans) must be livid."

Thierry Henry and Graeme Souness - also working for Sky - were equally appalled by the Arsenal performance. Henry said at half-time that he was not even shocked by Arsenal's ineptitude. "To be honest, I was expecting this," he said wearily. "It's just too many mistakes. Mistakes that should not be happening."

Souness added: "They play completely off the cuff. They're like a bunch of schoolboys. This beggars belief for a big club to be playing like this."
