Swansea City are on the verge of a major transfer coup after agreeing a loan deal for Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches.

Sanches, the Portuguese international, will join the Welsh club for the season after head coach Paul Clement utilised his close relationship with Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti to devastating effect.

Chelsea, Liverpool and AC Milan have also made inquiries about the 20-year-old midfielder but Swansea have pulled off one of the most eye-catching deals of the window. It is understood Swansea have agreed to pay a loan fee of around £3.5 million.

Signed for £28m from Benfica last year, Sanches made 25 appearances in all competitions for Bayern but endured a difficult end to the campaign and Ancelotti  cleared him for a loan move in pre-season. Clement worked with Sanches at the Allianz Arena before taking the job at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea are also interested in West Brom attacker Chadli, but the £25m valuation remains a huge hurdle to overcome.

Swansea expect to sign Wilfried Bony from Manchester City after an £8m bid for Burnley’s Ashley Barnes was turned down.

Bony is returning to South Wales in a move which clears Fernando Llorente to join champions Chelsea.

West Brom have confirmed the capture of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak on loan, a deal revealed by The Daily Telegraph.

Krychowiak has completed his surprise move from PSG after passing a medical on Wednesday morning, with Albion understood to be paying all of his wages.

The Poland international joins for the season and has revealed he turned down offers from Spain and Italy to seal his move to the Black Country.

Albion were seeking an agreement to sign Krychowiak on a permanent deal but it was rebuffed, despite PSG moving a number of players out this summer as they attempt to fall in line with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Pulis is now expected to abandon his bid for Fenerbahce’s Josef de Souza as a result of the Krychowiak signing.

Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs has also signed for £7m but any further recruits for Albion will be dependent on outgoings.

Manchester City and Arsenal are yet to step up their interest in captain Jonny Evans who is rated at over £30m.

Manchester City’s Eliaquim Mangala remains an option for West Brom on loan but the deal is linked to the pursuit of Evans.

Crystal Palace are ready to offer £25m plus a further £5m in add-ons to finally land Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho.

Palace will make another attempt to sign Sakho on deadline day with a proposal that comes closer to Liverpool’s £30m valuation.

Sakho had a successful loan spell at Selhurst Park last season and is keen on a return to London, despite interest from West Brom and Leicester.

Palace have also bid for another Sakho, Diafra Sakho at West Ham, as beleaguered manager Frank de Boer moves to strengthen his squad, but the Hammers insist he is staying.

Stoke’s record signing Giannelli Imbula is poised to join Toulouse on loan.

Imbula was signed for £18.3m from Porto but has endured a nightmare spell in the Potteries and is ready to move back to France.

Bojan is also expected to leave on Thursday with a loan move to Alaves. Philipp Wollscheid, the defender, is in talks with Metz.

Leicester’s £16m signing Ahmed Musa is close to joining Hull City on loan. Musa, the Nigeria international, played under Hull manager Leonid Slutsky at former club CSKA Moscow.

Leicester are also in advanced talks with Demarai Gray over a new contract, to kill off interest from Bournemouth and Everton.

Reports of a bid from Spurs have been dismissed by both clubs.

Derby County have launched a late bid for Norwich striker Cameron Jerome but will have to pay at least £3m. Derby are trying to offload Jason Shackell and Jacob Butterfield.

Sunderland have made an approach to take Aston Villa defender Tommy Elphick on loan. Barnsley also want to sign Villa midfielder Gary Gardner.
