Phil Neville believes Marcus Rashford has the potential to become 'absolutely world class' and has compared the 19-year-old to Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.

Rashford scored twice and assisted another as Manchester United ran out 4-1 victors in their Carabao Cup third round tie against Burton Albion.

Neville, 40, was working as a pundit for Sky Sports' coverage of the game at Old Trafford.

"Everybody praises Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe but nobody talks about Rashford in this country," said Neville following full-time.

"Because he's English we just say 'he plays on the left wing, he's OK'. He is up there with Dembele and Mbappe, who also play on either wing. People say you have to play Rashford as a centre-forward but you can play him anywhere because he is good enough.

Barcelona made Ousmane Dembele their club record signing this summer while Kylian Mbappe will become the most expensive teenager of all time when he completes his permanent move to PSG at the end of this season.

"Rashford is in the same bracket as those two - £100m-£150m players - he is every bit as good as those two and can be in the future because he is improving every season," Neville added.

"He broke in under Louis van Gaal and set the world on fire, in his second season under Jose Mourinho everyone thought he wouldn't play but he did in all the big games. Now he is adding goals to his game and he can be absolutely world class."

Neville also said he believed Jose Mourinho's team could win the quadruple this season.

“I think when you talk about ‘can United go on all four fronts?’, I think with this squad, I think they can.”

Manchester United are currently unbeaten in the Premier League and sit second in the table behind rivals Manchester City on alphabetical order.
