Arsenal and Chelsea fined by FA over conduct at Stamford Bridge

Players clashed after Arsenal’s Gabriel Paulista was sent off
Gabriel’s ban was overturned and Diego Costa suspended for incident

Chelsea and Arsenal have been fined £40,000 and £30,000 respectively and warned as to their future conduct after both clubs admitted a breach of Football Association rule E20 during the Premier League game at Stamford Bridge on 19 September.

The fines have been handed out after the clubs were charged “for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion” during Chelsea’s 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge in September.

The incidents occurred between the 44th and 47th minutes when players clashed after the Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista was shown a red card by referee Mike Dean following an incident with Diego Costa.

The FA has since revoked the card and handed Costa a three-match ban for his part in the incident.
