Arsene Wenger is hoping that Arsenal’s dramatic FA Cup final turnaround against Hull City can mark the start of a successful new era for the club.
The Gunners came from two goals down at Wembley to seal a 3-2 win in extra time thanks to Aaron Ramsey’s winner as they ended their nine-year wait for a major trophy.

And the Frenchman, who is expected to sign a new contract with Arsenal this week, wants the victory to be a “platform” for further success.
“It was an important moment in the life of this team, because to lose today would certainly have been a major setback,” said Wenger.
“To win will be a good platform to build on to come back even stronger next year.
“It is a relief and a happiness because of course we were under severe pressure to win today and we didn’t start well.
“In the end it finished well so it is a big, big moment of happiness and we waited a long time for that.
“The happiness is linked sometimes with the suffering and the time you have to wait, so that is maybe why it was a great moment at the end of the game.”
Wenger has been in charge at Arsenal since 1996, and asked if he plans to sign a new deal with the north London club, the 64-year-old replied: “That should normally happen yes, and we are in very normal circumstances.
“It was never a question of leaving. It was a question of doing the right job for this football club.”
