Frank Lampard names the one player he’d love Chelsea to sign this summer
Frank Lampard admits that he would love to see Chelsea sign Harry Kane from Tottenham this summer
Frank Lampard admits that he would love to see Chelsea complete a deal to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham this summer, although he admits a deal is nearly impossible.
The west London side have brought in four new players this summer after having tied up deals for Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
However, the Blues are still thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Antonio Conte prepares for his second season in charge at the club.
Diego Costa’s career at Stamford Bridge appears to be over, and Chelsea have lost the likes of Nemanja Matic, John Terry and Nathan Ake this summer.
Chelsea boss Conte spoke of his admiration of Tottenham Hotspur striker Kane earlier this summer.
Lampard is a huge admirer of Kane and admits he would be the perfect signing for Chelsea this summer, but he concedes that a deal would be unlikely.
Asked which player he would love to see Chelsea sign this summer, BT Sport pundit Lampard replied in an interview with The Sport Review: “For me, the best players in the league last year were Eden Hazard and Harry Kane.
“So you’re looking at Harry Kane but they won’t be able to get him, that’s a fact. He’s at Tottenham and he’s very happy there. He’s a fantastic player.
“You can dream about taking all of the top players in the world.”
Chelsea are currently preparing for their Premier League opener against Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
