Everton are likely to set an asking price of £15-20 million for Tottenham target Ross Barkley if they are to sell him in January, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Barkley is believed to have turned down a deadline day move to Chelsea at the very last minute, but the player himself denies having a medical at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder was close to joining the champions after a reported £35m fee was agreed with Everton.

Last month, Ronald Koeman claimed Barkley was almost certain to leave Goodison Park by the close of the summer transfer window.

Not long after those claims, the Everton manager backtracked a little, suggesting the 23-year-old could still play a part for the Toffees this season.

But with just 11 months left on his Everton contract coupled with a hamstring injury that could keep him out until December, there’s a good chance Barkley has played his last game for the club.

Now all we can do is wait to see if Spurs cough up the cash to sign him in January. I think they’ll certainly try.

    • Sorry Harryr. He gets medical care for his injury, proves his fitness in a few sub appearances and we Spurs sign him for 10 million in January. He takes off and helps Spurs win the all three domestic Cups.

Barclay got his head filled by one of your old players Rednapp and seems to have his head turned.
Why everyone thinks pochetino will get the best out of him puzzles me..
Everton have a great youth programme after all the England under 21s had 5 of our kids and won the world cup..
If we could get any more out of Barkley im sure we would im sure if you waot you will get him for nothing but dont whine when it happens to you

    • Bitter much? You forget we were the first to allow it to happen with campbell. Having learnt, it no longer happens to us. You sign or we sell for a reasonable price with 12 months left on your contract. If Toby doesn’t sign we WILL sell.
