Tottenham face West Ham in the EFL Cup at Wembley on Wednesday, and Mauricio Pochettino has suggested he will rotate his squad ahead of Saturday’s crucial trip to Manchester United.

Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamela have been ruled out, but Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele are expected to feature.

Juan Foyth could make only his second start for the club. Two out of the three regular centre-backs are likely to be rested – I’ve gone with Jan Vertonghen in my XI, but it’s just guesswork really.

Elsewhere, the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Fernando Llorente will expect to start. Eric Dier could also play from the beginning after coming on for just over ten minutes against Liverpool.

I also think Kieran Trippier will start as Pochettino will want Serge Aurier fresh in order to deal with Marcus Rashford’s pace on Saturday.

Here’s our Spurs line-up to face West Ham – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments.

  1. If we’re seriously thinking “trophy” yet wanting to rest the likes of Kane, Eriksen, Winks, Lloris and a few others, we’ll need a stronger attacking midfield behind Lloriente, who is almost certain to start. Assuming, as you do, that we’re going 4-2-3-1, I’ll have Sissoko-Alli-Son. Depending on how the game unfolds, there should be opportunities for Walker-Peters (for Trippier or Rose), Georgiou (for Dembele) and N’Koudou (for Son or Sissoko). Vertonghen to captain.

  2. Vorm

    KWP Foyth Jan Rose
    Dier Dembele
    N’koudou Son Edwards or Giorgiou
    Llorente

Davies to replace Rose after an hour depending on fitness of both.
Sissoko to replace Dembele after an hour to protect him from injury again.
Other than that if the game is going well would love to see Harrison come on and get 20 mins

  3. It’s now confirmed that Dembele is not ready to start. We could have either Alli or Winks partnering Dier in central midfield. I would go for Alli as he’s the fresher of the two, having played a game less (against Real due to suspension). He also did well playing in a deeper role v Liverpool.

  4. who gives a shit we never take the carrier-bag cup serious anyway but the pikeys will play their strongest team they can ITS THEIR CUP FINAL sad innit C.O.Y.S
