Six hot prospects tipped for the top ahead of Sky Live Liverpool U21s v Chelsea U21s

England starlet, 17-year-old Dominic Solanke, comes on as a second half substitute for Oscar

With Liverpool U21s playing Chelsea U21s live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 6.45pm on Monday, we pick six hot prospects tipped for bright futures in the game...

Liverpool

Jerome Sinclair

After joining Liverpool from West Brom as a 14-year-old, Sinclair has risen through the academy ranks to become a key member of the U21s.

The striker made his first-team debut as a substitute in a Capital One Cup tie against West Brom in September 2012 to become the Reds' youngest ever player - aged just 16 years and six days.

Now 18, Sinclair has been working on his finishing skills with Robbie Fowler and is hoping to reap the rewards as he continues his progress. “Robbie is a legend at this club so to get a few helpful tips from him and some advice is brilliant for me,” he said.

“This is a guy who has been there and done it and played at the pinnacle of the game. It’s fantastic for me to get the chance to work with him and it can only improve my game.”

Sergi Canos

Canos began his footballing education at Barcelona's famed La Masia academy but was snapped up by Liverpool in the summer of 2013.

A talented forward who can play on the right or as a No 9, the 18-year-old's impressive displays in the Reds' academy have earned him international recognition for Spain at U17 level.

Canos is now aiming to break into the first team, telling Spanish website Castellon Informacion recently: "Those who have been at Anfield know how impressive it is. The first time I went to see the first team there I hallucinated.

“I have no words to describe what my father and I lived that day. Playing at Anfield is an extra motivation for the youngsters."

Connor Randall

Following a one-month loan spell at Shrewsbury, Randall is now back with Liverpool U21s preparing for Monday’s tough test against Chelsea.

The 19-year-old right-back has been at Anfield since he was eight years old and captained the U18 side before climbing the ranks to the U21s.

A competitive, attacking right-back, Randall made an appearance for the first team in a friendly against Shamrock Rovers last summer and will be hoping to gain another opportunity to impress in the near future.

Chelsea

Dominic Solanke

After hitting 20 goals in 25 matches for Chelsea U18s last season, Solanke has been drafted into the first-team setup this year.

The 17-year-old was on the bench for the Blues' Premier League match against Crystal Palace in October and made his professional debut three days later as a substitute in the 6-0 Champions League win over Maribor.

"There's a lot of quality throughout the academy and I think quite a few can get a chance if they keep on working well,” said the youngster afterwards. "I’m just lucky to be able to tonight.”

Solanke has also proven his talent at international level, notching four goals in four games to help England to European U17 Championship glory in 2014. A quick, technical striker with a good eye for goal, he has been tipped to make the breakthrough over the next few years.

Isaiah Brown

Along with Solanke, Brown is one of the three players Jose Mourinho highlighted last July as possessing the potential to make the grade at Chelsea.

"My conscience tells me that if, for example, (Lewis) Baker, Brown, and Solanke are not national team players in a few years, I should blame myself," said Mourinho.

Brown became the second-youngest player in Premier League history in 2013 when he made his debut for West Brom aged just 16 years and 117 days, but soon left for Chelsea where he has continued his development.

Described by the Blues' official website as 'a versatile player with a lot of pace', the 18-year-old has been deployed across the attack, often in the wide right position.

Brown gained plaudits for a stunning goal against Leicester in September and, after appearing on the first-team bench at Shrewsbury a month later, he will hope to follow Solanke in making his professional bow.

Charly Musonda

Musonda has made a big impression at Chelsea after signing from Anderlecht with his two brothers, Tika and Lamisha, in 2012.

The son of a former Zambian international, the attacking midfielder began his Blues career with the U16s but was promoted to the U18s for the FA Youth Cup final against Norwich in 2013.

His quick footwork and eye for a spectacular goal - including a brilliant strike against Manchester United last season - have ensured Musonlda has become a key player for the U21s, with the 18-year-old also representing the age group for Belgium at international level.
