Galatasaray, Manchester City officially start Jason Denayer transfer talks

The Belgian only wants to play in Turkey, and he’ll get his wish

Manchester City tried to sell Jason Denayer during the entire transfer window to many teams in Europe, but the player only wanted to join one club: Galatasaray. And he got his wish.

The Turkish club officially announced on Wednesday they’ve started talks to sign Denayer on loan from City.

Denayer reportedly rejected offers from seven clubs in favor of a return to Galatasaray, where he played on loan in 2015 and helped the club win the Turkish Cup. While City won’t get the fee they wanted initially, it looks as though there will be a buying option in the contract that allows Galatasaray to sign the player on a permanent deal next summer.

Denayer was one of the top prospects in the City academy and played very well for Celtic FC and Galatasaray on loan, but Pep Guardiola didn’t fancy Jason last season and he was sent to Sunderland. It really looks like Denayer won’t play for City in the near future, even though he has tremendous potential.

Good luck in Turkey, Jason!
