Manchester City fans should prepare for the worst against Crystal Palace

Manchester City look absolutely unstoppable at the moment. In the last four games, the Blues have won all four while scoring 17 goals and conceding just one. City top the Premier League and Champions League tables, and they knocked out West Bromwich Albion and advanced to the next round of the League Cup with a great performance.

With such a ridiculous run of form, City fans will be licking their lips at the prospect of this Saturday's game at the Etihad: City welcome bottom of the league Crystal Palace for a Premier League match where the Blues are overwhelming favorites, and for good reason.

Not only are City in incredible form, they'll face a team in a horrible moment: Palace lost every one of their first five league games without scoring a goal, which has never happened in the history of English football's top flight. Palace have already changed managers and Roy Hodgson didn't give the fans any encouragement with the team's performance against Southampton last week.

The gap in talent and points between the two sides is so gigantic, literally 100% of people are thinking this will be a walk in the park for City. And that's where the problem lies: this game has "TYPICAL CITY" written all over it.

The chances of an upset this Saturday are almost scary, because this is a classic situation where a team on fire faces a bad team in a bad streak and goes into the match thinking the win is in the bag. Players think the match is won, the manager doesn't work as hard in preparing for the game, the fans don't get behind the team as they normally would and come to the stadium only waiting for multiple goals and an easy win.

Thankfully, Pep Guardiola isn't the type of manager that takes any team for granted, and the City players are constantly looking to play better and better to stay part of the starting eleven. To make things more positive, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Sergio Agüero were rested against West Brom, so the most important players in the team will be completely fresh coming into this match.

City have all the tools to beat Palace and could guarantee a win by halftime, which would be important to rest players ahead of a tough Champions League match in midweek. Palace will come to the Etihad to defend really deep and try to get a goal on the counter and/or via a set piece, and that is a dangerous proposition.

Again, this sounds like an easy game for City, and it might even be in the end. But as Manchester City fans, it won't hurt to prepare for the worst. This is the perfect scenario for a Typical City game, so at least be ready.
