Manchester City announced on Monday a 21-man squad for the new season of the UEFA Champions League. All the senior players in the current first team squad are part of what UEFA call the A List, and the full A List is below:

Goalkeepers: 1. Claudio Bravo, 31. Éderson Moraes, 49. Aro Muric

Defenders: 2. Kyle Walker, 3. Danilo Luiz, 4. Vincent Kompany, 5. John Stones, 15. Eliaquim Mangala, 22. Benjamin Mendy, 30. Nicolas Otamendi

Midfielders: 7. Raheem Sterling, 8. Ilkay Gundogan, 17. Kevin De Bruyne, 18. Fabian Delph, 19. Leroy Sané, 20. Bernardo Silva, 21. David Silva, 25. Fernandinho, 42. Yaya Touré

Forwards: 10. Sergio Agüero, 33. Gabriel Jesus

You might (correctly) ask yourself: where are Tosin Adarabioyo, Phil Foden, Brahim Díaz and other young players? Are they not available for the Champions League? Don’t worry, they are! UEFA allows every team in the Champions League to have a B List, which consists of players born after January 1st, 1996 who have been registered at the club for at least two years, which is the case for Tosin, Foden and Brahim. They can play in the Champions League, they’re just part of the B List. That’s all.
