Now, you all know that there are few things I love more than putting together an interesting, well-constructed, and ideally witty intro to your daily Hoddle. However, I regret to inform you that there are very loud building works going on in my office this morning and unfortunately I can’t currently hear myself think. It’s the sentence I definitely thought I’d be writing circa 2011- Harry Kane is on the 30-man shortlist for the Balon d’Or!
According to this article in The Independent, the English national team can fulfill their ambition to play more like Spurs if they use Ross Barkley in the ‘Christian Eriksen role’. This is all going to get very confusing, of course, when Spurs sign Ross Barkley and he’s playing backup to the real Christian Eriksen.

Gareth Bale’s going to have a full summer to get fit and healthy for his transfer to Spurs next year, because Wales missed out on World Cup qualification last night after defeat to the Republic of Ireland.
Time to start practicing your clapping and grunting technique, though, because Iceland sealed their place in Russia last night with a 2-0 win against Kosovo. Hooray for Gylfi!
Fans of lower-league clubs know that promotion from the Championship to the Premier League automatically bankrupts your team morally... but does it put them at risk of financial bankruptcy as well?
