Happy Friday Spursland!

We’re kicking the Hoddle off with a bit of a throwback tune today on the theme of ‘plans’, because I want to hear yours for this weekend. Me? I’m going to an origami class and drinking loads of oat milk lattes like the unabashed metropolitan hipster I am. How about your good selves?

It’s a refrain we’ve gotten very used to hearing as Spurs fans over the, well, decades- but here’s our beloved manager singing it one more time with feeling. Mauricio Pochettino has reminded us that Spurs can’t compete financially with the Manchester clubs.

That said, the new stadium we have in the works certainly isn’t going to do our revenue streams any harm- and by the looks of things our new home is taking shape nicely, as these pictures tweeted out by the SpursOfficial account yesterday show.

Remember around this time last year when we started totally ballsing things up in the League and fell inescapably behind Chelsea? Well, here’s Ben Pearce on why that hopefully won’t happen again this season. TL;DR- injuries.

Elsewhere in football...

As the Scottish FA begins its search for a new national team manager, the BBC has tactfully decided to remind everyone just how depressing the list of obvious candidates is.

Here’s CFC’s own Kevin McCauley laying the smackdown on the two men responsible for the USMNT’s failure to qualify for next year’s World Cup in Russia.

Now listen, I love Timmy Cahill as much as the next guy- but this is the kind of behaviour that should get you exiled straight down to the Icelandic Third Division with no recourse.

Back in the world of club football, it appears that the price cap levied last season on tickets for Premier League is having the intended effect as more than half of supporters are now paying less than £30 per match. Balti pies all round!

And finally...

Here’s Adam Hurrey (aka @FootballCliches) on some of the greatest career moments of Neville Southall- iconic Everton goalkeeper and soon-to-be iconic Tweeter.
