Who could’ve seen THIS coming?!

In what is no doubt a COMPLETELY SHOCKING AND TOTALLY UNEXPECTED ANNOUNCEMENT, the Premier League announced today that Harry Kane was the recipient of the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month award for September.

Kane was the only logical choice after the month he had. Kane scored six goals in September, three of them braces, as Spurs won three of their four league matches. After being blanked in August, he scored 12 goals for club and country in a month, a feat achieved only by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kane was his usual down to earth self in accepting the award, and noted that with this award he’s close to another Premier League record.

This is Kane’s fifth Player of the Month award, which ties him with Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie in most career Player of the Month awards in a career. Steven Gerrard owns the record with six, and I’m kind of guessing that Harry’s gonna smash that record, possibly even this season.

Harry Kane is pretty good at this football thing, you guys.
