Mousa Dembele and Danny Rose make Tottenham’s Champions League traveling squad

But that doesn’t mean they’ll play!

Let’s play a fun game called “Guess Who’s Going to Madrid.” It isn’t actually all that difficult — you just look at the official pictures Tottenham Hotspur released on Twitter of players at the airport and try to identify them.

So yep, there’s Serge Aurier, Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Kyle Walker-Peters, and Eric Dier. There’s also a nice shot of Jan Vertonghen walking towards the... WAIT WHO ARE THEY?

Yes, that’s Mousa Dembele and Danny Rose, both of whom appear to be on the plane to Spain for Spurs’ Champions League match against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu tomorrow.

What does this mean? Well, likely not much. Pochettino does sometimes bring injured (but rehabilitating) players along to foreign trips as much for the team chemistry as for anything else. Danny in particular only started full training the middle of last week. It seems unlikely that he’s match fit, and even less likely that he’s Real-Madrid-at-the-Bernabeu match fit. Same with Moose — maybe he’s fit, but it’s likely he’s not. It’d be great if he was, thoguh!

We haven’t heard anything about Ben Davies at the time of this posting, and that’s a pretty major concern. The photos confirm that Aurier and Walker-Peters are both on the plane, and Twitter journos also suggest that Kieran Trippier will also go. With Rose, that’s four fullbacks for two positions (but three of them are right backs). You’d have to think that ONE of them will start on Tuesday.

Thanks to other @spursofficial tweets, we can also confirm that Moussa Sissoko, Son Heung-Min, Christian Eriksen, and Hugo Lloris will all be in the squad on Tuesday. Not exactly breaking news, but still nice to know.
