Another day has passed, but I’m still buzzing from Spurs draw/victory at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.
The most impressive part of the draw might have been that Tottenham were able to survive a poor game from Christian Eriksen. Our great Dane had an off-day, but others picked up the slack.
Harry Winks actually had a better pass-completion percentage in the first half than Luka Modric. I’m not English and am extremely biased, but he should be starting at the World Cup next summer over someone like Jordan Henderson. He’s already a better player.

The goalkeepers were two of the biggest stars from Tuesday’s match in Madrid. After the game, Harry Kane bumped into Keylor Navas and complimented his performance. And a Spanish TV station over-edited it for us all to see.
These are great days to be a Tottenham fan. Not too long ago, as Jack Pitt-Brooke points out in the Independent, Spurs were facing the likes of Asteras Tripolis in the Europa League. That was a really great match to watch though. Lamela’s rabona + Kane in goal > Champions League glory.

There were more Champions League games yesterday! Chelsea drew Roma, Manchester United beat Benfica, and Celtic managed to go to Bayern Munich and not lose 5-1.
A Chinese fan traveled across the globe to see Runcorn Linnets FC play live in the ninth tier of English football. He developed an affinity for Runcorn from playing Football Manager. Next thing you know he’ll be manager and leading them up the divisions.
