Real Madrid president denies interest in Harry Kane, reveals Daniel Levy is a troll

"Congratulations for the European title you have won with my players."

It doesn’t matter how often Harry Kane says he loves Tottenham Hotspur. It doesn’t matter that Spurs have said repeatedly and without hesitation that Kane is not for sale at any price. Thanks to his incredible start to the season (well, starting in September, anyway), Kane has continually been linked with a gargantuan blockbuster transfer to Real Madrid this summer, with the Spanish media reporting interest and the English media wondering not if he’ll go, but when.

But apparently nobody has thought to ask Madrid president Florentino Perez, until now. Perez, who presided over the purchases of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, gave an interview on Spanish media outlet Cadena Cope (via ESPN) where he denied any such move for Kane, or even any concrete interest.

And, he highlighted some absolutely A++ trolling from Levy.

"Honestly, it hasn't [entered my mind]. He is a magnificent player, he is young and has many years to progress. But we are delighted not just with [Karim] Benzema, but with all the players that we have.

"No [Daniel Levy didn’t provide an asking price for Kane] and had I asked him for the price he would have asked for €250m. He always goes for the top [amount]. We have become friends because of the time it took us to sign [former Tottenham players] Luka Modric and Gareth Bale.

"Every time we win a European title, he [Levy] sends me the same message: 'Congratulations for the European title you have won with my players.'"

SAVAGE.

I’m actually not surprised that Levy and Perez are friends. I think, after all they’ve been through, that there would be a relationship of mutual respect that has emerged over the years. Perez knows that he has all the financial clout in the world to sign the best players, but knows that Levy is not going to be rolled by anyone, no matter how powerful. It’s an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object, and it’s why I’m not at all concerned that Harry Kane is going to be heading to Spain anytime soon, except on vacation.
