With his match-winning strike against Crystal Palace, Son Heung-Min became the highest-scoring South Korean player in Premier League history over the weekend. Son, I’m proud of you.

Covering himself in considerably less glory during the Palace match was celebrity Tottenham fan Lord Alan Sugar, who slated stand-in keeper and MOTM Paolo Gazzaniga on Twitter after his early error. You’d think if there was anybody who would understand the value of giving time and patience to a young apprentice...

Elsewhere in football...

Slaven Bilic’s largely unhappy spell at West Ham looks to be over as reports swirl in the UK press that David Moyes is about to parachute in to the cold, soulless void of the London Stadium. As somebody who thinks that Premier League clubs don’t give enough chances to British coaches with utterly diabolical win records, I obviously think this is great news.

Antonio Conte was equivocal when asked about the future of David Luiz after the Brazilian was left out of Chelsea’s matchday squad for their win against Manchester United. If we’re being honest we’re all a little bit sad about this on some level, right?

Real Madrid managed to bounce back from the pantsing they suffered at Wembley last week with a 3-0 win over Las Palmas, but Barca consolidated their grip on first place in La Liga by swatting aside Sevilla.

And over in the Bundesliga Jupp Heynckes continued to roll back the years as his Bayern side trucked through Dortmund 3-1.

And finally...

Just in case there’s anybody left out there who hasn’t already seen it- here’s Mainz keeper Robin Zentner juuuuuuust about getting away with a hilarious air-kick during his side’s tie against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
