Mirror: Borussia Dortmund to beat Tottenham to Jadon Sancho

This is hopefully not the biggest news of the day.

It’s the first news of Transfer Deadline Day, even if it’s not the most impactful. A week after we wrote that England U-17 and Manchester City academy player Jadon Sancho wanted a move to Tottenham Hotspur, the Mirror is now saying that the 17-year-old is close to reaching an agreement to join Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga side have been in talks with City and leapt to the front of the long queue to sign the England under-17 wonder-kid.

City are ready to admit defeat in their bid to keep Sancho and are now hoping to secure a huge eight-figure fee for the exciting winger.

Given the lack of anything approximating a quote, it must be noted that this rumor is extremely soft, but it’s a rumor nonetheless. It would be nice for Spurs to sign a player like Sancho for the future, but it would be hard to get too upset about him going elsewhere on a day when there are more pressing matters at hand.
