Now this is more like it. According to BBC journalist David Ornstein, a Tottenham Hotspur bid for forward Fernando Llorente has been accepted by Swansea, but it’s not done and dusted.

If Chelsea are indeed going to counter, it could spell trouble for Spurs. Chelsea have missed out on a few transfer targets this summer, including Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is reportedly nearing a move to Liverpool, and Romelu Lukaku, who went to Manchester United, so I wouldn’t expect the West London side to back down at this point.
No matter whether Llorente moves to Spurs or Chelsea, he’ll be behind a world class forward, whether it’s Harry Kane or Alvaro Morata, so in either case he’ll have to be willing to take a reduction in his 2454 Premier League minutes from a season ago. If Spurs are successful in signing the 32-year-old, it would be surprising if Vincent Janssen doesn’t move, as the Dutch forward has been linked to Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion.
